2019 in a summary and the start of 2020

Just wanted to put a remark in my online diary after 1 year gone missing again. 2019 was a challenging year to me too as the company I worked for just suddenly went bankrupt. More about it below

Targets for 2019

As usual we should be setting a new target every year so that we will have purpose in our lives. I haven't been strict with myself and I ended up not accomplishing some of my dreams. I remembered I used to set the below targets for me to achieve:

Photoshoot with Thailand Model Maria Phaninthon

Its been a while since I've posted anything in this site. Many things has changed since 2015. One thing for sure I'm getting older already and I've changed my job. Currently I'm working way up north of Malaysia and I'm missing my photography life in the Klang Valley. Here's just some shots I've took in 2017. Enjoy.....

Laugh Die You

Its been almost half a year since I last update here... Sorry for the lack of updates... Life has been quite normal for me throughout this half year and I really needed something interesting in my life... Luckily my friend Donovan from Manoah had 1 extra ticket to watch a stand up comedy titled Laugh Die You on 14-5-2015 ... This is my 1st time watching a stand up comedy and I was very looking forward to it as its been a long time since I had a great laugh... The main attraction of #LaughDieYou or #XiuSeiLei is Phua Chu Kang, Douglas Lim, Rizal Van Geyzel and Kumar.

I was told to reach early at HGH Convention Centre as the parking space there is very limited so I decided to go straight away after work... It was just 7pm only and visitors to #LaughDieYou started coming..

Came too early... Hall still empty...

When it was 7.30pm, the crowd starts to build up... Every1 was waiting to have a good laugh.

Phua Chu Kang was the 1st comedian to come up on stage and he was the emcee for the night. He really did a great job making every1 laugh especially during contest period.

The next 1 who came up is Rizal Van Geyzel.

Sorry for the poor quality photos. Was shooting in the dark with my Xperia S and I was quite far away from the stage.

And then it was Douglas's turn to come up on stage.

There's a short break before the next comedian is up

Its Kumar and I think every1 is waiting for him.

After Kumar's jokes, it was a joke off between Singapore comedian and Malaysia comedian to see who is the best.

So who will win???

In the end it was the audience who won because we all had a good laugh for 3 and a half hours... There were all kinds of joke being told ranging from current issues such as GST (girl show tetek), relationship, government and etc... The 1 thing that really gave me a deep thought is something pointed out by Douglas Lim... During the recent election, everyone was furious because there were immigrants (Bangladeshi, Nepalese and etc) who came to vote... We felt that they were not suppose to vote eventhough they are staying here and working here as they are not citizens yet.. But did we ever thought of last time when the chinese and indian ancestors who came here to work and eventually given the right to vote... The locals here were furious at that time too... Maybe in near future we will have more races categorize as Malaysian...

Another phone gone..

As the title of my post says, I've lost yet another phone. This is my second time losing another phone. The real reason behind the lost is unclear as when I was about to use it I just could not find it. I tried calling my number immediately using my girl's phone but it seems that the phone has been switched off. So someone must have taken the phone away already. I'm not sure someone has picked pocket me or I've misplaced it but I think the latter has much higher probability as I did not go to a crowded place and 'get touched' by a stranger. I've just went to Jaya One today for the Photo Art Convention and was about to listen to a seminar only did I noticed the phone was gone. It wasn't a high end phone as its not a smart phone. Its just an ordinary Nokia 108 dual sim phone. Why would someone be so desperate to even take it away from me?

I'm just using this phone for calls and sms as the battery life can last me at least 5 days with continuous usage without charging. Although the damaged done is not high as the cost is not much but it really is a hassle trying to get everything back to normal. 1st I've got to hunt the same phone back (since its very good to use), get my Maxis and Digi sim card replacement. The phone cost me RM105, both the sim replacement cost me another RM10 each. Since today is a Sunday, I decided to go to Sunway Pyramid which I can get all the 3 items done at 1 go. Today I just found out for Maxis sim card replacement you need a police report if you intend to get a sim replacement for free. I wonder is it worth all the hassle to go all through that just to save RM10. I dont think the police will even bother since the phone I've lost is just a cheap one. This phone just lasted me like few months only and is the only phone that spend the shortest amount of time with me. Luckily there wasn't any important things in it just that I've got a memory card filled with old memories in it. I hope the person who took it will not misuse it.

After my 1st lost phone incident, I thought our telco's technology would have improved after a few years (5 maybe) but it seems that our telco is still unable to track our phone using the signal. I'm not sure its because they are lazy to do it (felt not significant as this kind of case is too common) or they really dont have the technology to do it. I'm sure they can still recall the signal where the phone was last sending out right? I just want to confirm where was my phone last seen as I've a hunch that there was a foreigner was trying to get close to us when I and my girl was resting on the sofa. The foreigner changed to a nearer sofa to us after I tried to sit a bit further from him as I had an uneasy feeling that he was stalking my girl. I guess he was aiming my phone maybe? This is just a reminder to all my readers. Next time when something suspicious came up, its better to check everything and to make sure everything is ok before leaving the scene. Just got to be more careful next time.

On another note, my bad luck for the day did not stop at the phone issue, my sandals also start showing signs of almost giving way. Time to hunt for a nice sandals.

PAP 2014

Just last 2 weeks ago, I went to UPM to watch their PAP 2014 performance. Somehow I did not manage to get a nice seat so my photos are just so so only. But still I'm quite impressed with the performance of my A900 paired up with the 70200G lens. The image was quite clear even though I was sitting from far away. SO just have a look at my photos below

So as you can see above, the colours are quite nice and accurate except for some which I have post processed it. Never regretted getting this lens and camera although its quite expensive. Even after I posted these photos online, 1 of the junior in UPM invited me to be the photographer for another dance event organized by Zhong Hua. I felt quite proud of myself but too bad I just had to turn him down because I was a bit lazy to drive all the way back to UPM again just within 4 days after this event and am quite tired too as I had been busy that week. Do hope in future got chance to shoot events like this, as its really been a long time since I shot events.

The Launch of A New Season of Supermodelme

On Wednesday I got to attend the launch of a reality super model show at Publika thanks to Donavan. The TV show is called Supermodelme Femme Fatale and its now in its 4th season. Its my 1st time attending a TV show launch. When I arrived it was still quite early and I did not know I will be alone at that event as I dont really know anyone there.
So in this season there are a total of 12 models participating in this contest to become the top model and win the grand prize which is $35000. The panel of judges were Lisa S, Dominic Lau and Ase Wang. I get to meet those participants and judges face to face. The models were really tall and thin and I guess those the criteria of being an international model.
As this is also my 1st time using my 70200G lens to shoot an event I guess I kinda screw most of my shots as it been quite some time since I shot a live event in low light condition. Some of the photos I manage to save but still its kinda a disappointment. So lets enjoy the photos.

Lets take a group photo shall we.

The new season of Supermodelme Femme Fatale will premiere on Astro Diva on 18/11/13 Monday. Dont miss it. I've watched half of the 1st episode and its quite nice.

Things which I have learnt in the past half a year

It has been half a year since the day I made those comments about the company I'm working in... After thinking again I felt that my actions was quite silly... Should have asked some opinions from my friends 1st and not just post in rage without thinking properly... I do regret for posting such defamatory comments bout the company... I know posting such comments will have serious consequences and I have to make amends and ask for their forgiveness... They gave me a scholarship to study when I most needed it, offer me a job when I just freshly grad without any experience and also find a suitable thing for me to do in the office due to my health condition... I should be grateful and not be the person like the chinese saying "biting back the hand who feed me"... I'm grateful that now I was given a second chance to contribute the company again... This will be a lesson learnt forever and I cant afford to do such mistakes again in the future no matter where I'm working... I'll surely think 1st before doing anything...

Sony New Camera Launch 2013

I was lucky enough to be one of the few selected Sony members who get to preview the few cameras which is launching in Malaysia in the year 2013.Some of the cameras launch were the Sony Action Cam, NEX 5T, QX100 and etc. Cant really recall the other models as I was not quite attracted to those. :P

We start of by some video promotion of all the products by Mas Ishida. Here are some of the photos during the presentation.

Started of with Ivy Goh Head of Marketing welcoming us...

Lisa Surihani shared her experience being the Sony ambassador and how much she enjoy taking picture with her NEX 3N

Took this shot because of the model... :D

Here are some of the features of the Sony action cam... I wonder will it be cheaper than the GoPro???

Lastly we got to have a hands on on all the new cameras. Its camera molesting time. YAY!!!

My friend Meng Keat playing the QX100 after linking it to his Xperia Z using NFC...

Another friend Christopher Lye with the QX100... Seems like everyone just love this lens style camera...

The Sony Action Cam not as small as the GoPro, but seems like it can perform under low light condition better than GoPro...

The QX100 on my hand at last... It is NFC compatible... Seems like NFC technology is becoming more and more popular d... Luckily my Xperia S is NFC compatible... But too bad i just don't have extra cash to buy those add ons... T.T

Both the new E mount lens... The front 1 is a G lens and the 1 behind is the Zeiss Lens... If only the lens could have f2.8 and remain that light...

So thats all for tonight. I need to get some rest and pack some more for my Langkawi 3 day 2 nights trip. Nightzzzz.....
